    Guitars for Veterans Therapy Group
    Guitars for Veterans with PTSD or moral injury is an initiative of SAMI (Springfield Area Music Industry); Moral Injury Institute; Center for Music Therapy and Wellness; Wellness for Warriors; and the Springfield VA VetCenter to put guitars in the hands of Veterans with PTSD & Moral Injury, providing group support and beginning level guitar lessons. Military veterans do not need to own a guitar.

    Police VS. Fire Charity Ice Hockey Game
    The third annual Police VS. Fire Charity Ice Hockey Game benefits the Greene County 100 Club. It also helps raise awareness of the hockey community in southwest Missouri, says Captain Eric Reece, of the Springfield Police Department. “The Jordan Valley Ice Park is a great facility and hosts the Spirit teams, MSU Ice Bears, adult league hockey, and figure skating classes,” he says. “The Ice Park is always very supportive of our charity game also.” Read more from Captain Reece about the importance of this community event by clicking on the story on our homepage.
